The first official image of the 2010 Saab 9-4X that have emerged from GM prove that the crossover closely resembles the Saab 9-4X BioPower concept introduced at the 2008 Detroit Auto Show. The 2010 9-4X will make its world debut next spring, most probably at the 2009 New York Auto Show.
The five-passenger crossover is based on the same GM midsize sedan architecture as the Chevrolet Malibu and Saturn Aura, and the Saab will share its overall mechanical package with the forthcoming 2010 Chevrolet Equinox and 2010 Cadillac SRX.
The 2010 Saab 9-4X will be priced like a BMW X3 and sized like an X5. Under the hood the company will place innovative powertrain options like the concept vehicles E85-fueled, direct-injection four-cylinder engine.
This might be the first time you hear about a 9-3X from Saab. It is supposed to also be a glimpse of the production version 9-4x.
The name 9-3X was used for the first time like 7 years ago when the company unveiled a concept with this name. And now is time for the production version.
The 9-3X is a response to an Audi Allroad or a Subaru wagon. It’s raised by approx 30mm, is fitted with Saab’s groundbreaking Cross Wheel Drive (XWD).
The 9-3x is coming in Paris in October and the 9-5 is coming at Geneva in March, so, the only option for the 9-4X is the 2009 Detroit Auto Show.

Already labeled “Best Concept” by AutoWeek Magazine upon its world debut at the Geneva auto show last March, the Saab 9-X BioHybrid has been voted “Specialty Concept Car of the Year” by a jury of 25 professional North American automotive journalists. The award ceremony took place at the Automotive Hall of Fame in Dearborn, Michigan.
Now in its 7th rendition, the annual Concept Car of the Year Awards recognize those vehicles that are most likely to shape the future of the automobile industry. The winners were selected from 40 concept cars and 12 production preview vehicles that made their North American debut during the 2008 auto show season.
The 9-X BioHybrid is a vivid vision of what a future compact car from Saab could look like. It is designed to reflect the priorities of youthful customers who seek progressive looks, responsible performance and high-tech communications, all in a sporty, fun-to-drive package.

With design inspired by the Aero-X Concept, the future 9-5 will be a four-door coupe model, with a length of 4.9 meters and a head-up display making it onto the equipment list.
Official debut will be made next year at the Geneva Motor Show.
There were rumors on the internet saying that GM will move 9-3’s production to GM Europe’s Opel plant in Ruesselsheim, near Frankfurt, Germany, from Saab’s Trollhattan, Sweden, factory. But a General Motors Europe spokesman said today that production of the Saab 9-3 will remain in Sweden.
To compensate for not getting the 9-3, GM Europe will add production of the Saab 9-5 and a compact car at Ruesselsheim. "It is good news that Ruesselsheim will get an extra model, a third shift and that the 9-3 production will remain in Saab’s home country," said GM Europe spokesman Joerg Schrott.
GM Europe has not named the compact car that will be built in Ruesselsheim, but company sources say it will be the Opel Astra lower-medium car.
Saab will unveil the 9-4X next year at the Detroit motor show in January and sales will begin later on the year. The first prototypes have been caught testing in Germany.
The 9-4X will have its design inspired by the 9-3 and 9-3, ,- but with more modern materials and better build quality.
Under the hood GM will place a 2.8-litre petrol V6 and an automatic box. The production version will be 4.95m long and 1.92m wide. It will be built on a new platform — a mix of GM’s Theta 4x4 platform and the new Epsilon II chassis known as Theta premium.
Saab revealed the 2009 9-7X range, which includes the performance-oriented 9-7X Aero, the 9-7X 4.2i and the 9-7X 5.3i. All feature unique Saab brand characteristics that include sophisticated styling inside and out, premium design features, and the sporty and spirited performance inherent to Saab vehicles.
The 2009 9-7X Aero is powered by the powerful, 6.0L small-block V-8 delivers 390 horsepower (295 kW) and 400 lb.-ft. (542 Nm) of torque. With 0-60 mph acceleration of less than six seconds, the 9-7X Aero is a treat for those who are passionate about the driving experience.
For 2009 Saab brings back the popular Altitude Edition package. It is offered for 4.2i and 5.3i models and includes DVD touch screen navigation radio, highly polished 18-inch alloy wheels and specific badging.
The two other engines in the Saab 9-7X range include the 4.2L inline six-cylinder and the 5.3L V-8. The 4.2L delivers 285 hp and 276 lb.-ft. of torque. The 5.3L V-8 engine delivers 300 hp and 321 lb.-ft. of torque.
The 9-7X Aero’s 6.0L V-8 is mated to the Hydra-Matic 4L70 electronically controlled four-speed transmission. The 4.2i and 5.3i all-aluminum engines are mated to a Hydra-Matic 4L60 four-speed transmission.

The all-black Saab Turbo X, which made its world debut at the Frankfurt auto show last year, is now arriving at Saab dealership around the United States. Celebrating thee decades of Saab turbocharging leadership and the first to feature Saab’s state-of-the art Cross-Wheel Drive system, the limited-edition Turbo X is a driver-focused performance car that is already being hailed as an instant classic.
The Saab Turbo X is available in four-door Sport Sedan and five-door SportCombi body styles. It has styling cues that enhance aerodynamic performance and create a distinctive appearance, including specially designed 18-inch alloy wheels that have a grey, titanium-like finish that harks back to Saab’s classic three-spoke design. The “black turbo” theme is continued in the well-equipped interior, which carries unique appointments.
For the 2008 model year only 600 examples – split between both body styles – will be delivered to customers in the United States. Pricing starts at $42,510 for the Sport Sedan and $43,310 for the SportCombi.
